Tomorrow I am flying to the States to visit
general_jinjur for A WHOLE TEN DAYS!! This is what all the mysterious talk about birth certificates and passports has been about, which I realize I never...really...explained? Er.
ANYWAY YES. There will be times, and they will be awesome, and they shall be awesome times!
Currently I'm ( blah blah blither blither: cut for packing. )
Chances of me sleeping tonight when I am roughly 120% hyper? YOU DO THE MATH.
(awwww, my cat has attempted to be packed into all three of my bags. she can't come though, so I'll bring a picture of her. *cuddles her fluffy little head*)

My little brother wants to borrow my SGA books. LOOK EVERYONE, I GREW A LITTLE FANBOY! *\o/* (let's see if he notices the slashyover under overtones in Reliquary. *eyebrows*)

This article about a murder on a Winnipeg-bound Greyhound bus* was forwarded like wildfire through my office today. It's one of the most horrifying real life things I've ever fucking heard of, so of course, after about five minutes of feeling sick to my stomach, I started making as many jokes about crazy people and Greyhound buses as I could reasonably fit into regular conversation. Ah, coping mechanisms!
Today also featured me demonstrating 'sarcastic clapping', which consisted of a Rodney-is-not-impressed-by-your-yurts-an d-social-sciences-but-is being-forced-by-the-Team-to-pretend-he-i s-because-you-have-Pegasus-lemons-for-tr ade' face and a clapping speed of once per second. I've learned so much from McKay! :)

Dad and I went to the St. Norbert Farmer's Market this morning, and I want to live there! In St. Norbert, I mean, not the market. It's like being in a small town but with all the conveniences of living in the city! If I had gone to the University of Manitoba, I totally would have moved there. ALAS, I moved downtown instead. :P

Woke up from my nap because I seem to be running a fever! GOOD TIMES. This better be some sort of flu that purges itself quickly, because I am not looking forward to a protracted illness with all the shit I need to be doing. >:(
Oh hey, maybe it's food poisoning! I did have breakfast at Sal's this morning, lol. THANKS, BACON.

Considering it is 30°C (85°F), I'm not finding that it's too hot for me. Probably because it is truly the humidity I detest, and since the humidex is very low today, that means I can actually breathe. :)
2
I've been so so busy lately! This whole month has just gone by in a blur. It feels like it was just last week that I flipped my calendar. Time sure does fly when you're stressed! :P
3
I am going to try a new approach to curbing my book purchases. One summer when I was a kid, my mum enforced a rule on me that for every five books (from my personal shelves) that I read, I could buy one book. It worked pretty well back then, so I'm going to try it again now. I do have very poor impulse control, unfortunately, but we'll see how it goes.
4
My PDA is awesome! I like being able to addend my schedule, make grocery lists and, best of all, read fanfic no matter where I am. Just need to get a memory stick, so I don't have to keep switching my files out every couple days, and I'll be set! \o/
5
I watched the first series of The Sarah Jane Adventures before I watched this Saturday's Doctor Who, and I like it a lot. Anyone else think Alan should somehow get together with Gwen? I THINK THAT WOULD BE TOO AWESOME FOR WORDS.

New episodes of SGA start soon (July 11th specifically, for those of you who haven't procured the leaked S5 premiere), and Eureka will be premiering soon as well (July 29th, or so I hear). I'm getting really excited! *vibrates*

I saw wood ticks for the first time this weekend! There were many of them, and they liked crawling on me. I guess my blood is as attractive to ticks as it is to mosquitoes? (although I am happy to report that I found all of them before they actually started slurping me up. :D)
Which do you think Michelle would find scarier:
a) spiders, or
b) wood ticks, which look like butch spiders and also attach themselves to you and drink your blood
If you said "Yeah, definitely still spiders," you win! (there are no actual prizes)

A half-slab Safeway cake is way, way too much for ten people. Probably it's too much for twenty people.
bellwings and I are going to be celebrating
abbylee's birthday for *quite* a while yet. (message to
abbylee: if I put some cake in small freezable containers, would you be interested in taking some home? there are still two corners and your whole name left, if that entices you. :D)

Last night was the first time I'd ever heard a loon call. It was awesome. *geeks out over Canada*

I am totally not surprised that I have a tag called 'cake is good'. Highly amused, yes, but not at all surprised. :P

Okay, woah - you would think a tag about cake would talk about fun and or/happy times. BUT IT DOESN'T. Um...I used to be a very miserable person? *helpless arm waving*

Dear Alanis Morissette:
I recently purchased your new album, Flavors of Entanglement, and while I have not listened to it yet, I do have a criticism: Flavors? Really? Is 'Flavours' too good for you? Are you Céline Dion-ing on us? American is not the new black, bb. :/
Canadianizing Your Album In iTunes,

J: You're speaking with Ms.
bellwings, actually, and you guys called yesterday and I want you to take me off your calling list.
M: *cackles evilly*
Reason number 1,984,332 why telemarketers hate calling me. :DD

If he had asked if there were a Mr.
bellwings, I wouldn't have gotten so pissed off. The fact that he assumed that there must be one is what pissed me off. Not the first time it's happened, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Sadly. I do, however, find my rage amusing. :P
(yes, yes - I do realize he first incorrectly referred to her as 'Mrs.', and that since I didn't correct him, it stands to reason that if she is a Mrs. that there would conceivably be a 'Mr.', but therein lies a lot of the problem. a woman who has her name listed in the phone book...the assumption is that she is married? not single, divorced, widowed, or common-law/civilly partnered to a person of either gender? married. well, fuck you and your patriarchal values! this pisses me off so much that, when someone asks for a Mrs.

GOOD NEWS: I finally was able to finish recording
thefannishwaldo's fic 'PTSD: Post-Torchwood Stress Disorder'!
BAD NEWS:
amplificathon ends tomorrow and I am a little less than halfway through editing it, and there are a couple spots I need to re-record (apparently sometimes I talk so loud my microphone vibrates DD:), so I might not actually be finished before the deadline!
I AM PRETTY DETERMINED THOUGH, SO CROSS YOUR FINGERS FOR ME!
(note to self: cancel MTS guy for tomorrow.)
(2nd note to self: bring cheques for rent. because you're dumb and stopped in to pay rent without your debit card.)
(3rd note to self: ask landlord about three-prong outlet for air conditioner, because that bitch is going in as soon as humanly possible.)
Today has been brought to you by the letters W, T and F, and the number 13.
PS: also
bellwings' printer has decided to reject its organ transplant ink cartridges and paper. you know, the same ones we've been using since she got it at Christmas? WHY DID TODAY FAIL SO HARD?
PPS: I still can't confirm if Stomps-a-Lot has moved out, because I saw her coming out of her apartment today, but she didn't come back. And I clearly saw a mattress, a couch and a chair being loaded into a truck, and nothing coming in. SO I DON'T REALLY KNOW.
(4th note to self: ask landlord about upstairs neighbour.)
PPPS: OMGGGGG THE TV JUST TURNED ON BY ITSELF! AHHH! AHHHHHHH! HAAAAAAAAAAALP!!!!!!
